To package collectable items such as Funko Pops, using eco friendly packaging, follow these simple steps:
First, make sure the item is in good condition and free of any damage.
Select a box that is larger than the item you wish to send, we chose to use the 290x208x95mm Returnable Postal Box, as they are perfect Funko Pop Shipping Boxes!
Next, place a thick layer of cushioning material, such as Honeycomb Paper, in the box to create a protective base. There are many options for packaging materials you could use to fill this empty space, such as Bubble Wrap, Packing Peanuts or Blue Ocean film.
Packing your products with 360° protection is essential, especially in the case of mint condition or fragile items. This is because it will absorb shocks and impacts during transit, and stop your item from bumping against the sides of the box.
Place your product inside of the box, and bend the void fill around the sides of the item. It is important at this stage that there is still some space at the top of the box because it will leave space for additional void fill on top of the Funko Pop Figure.
Lay the remaining void-fill product around the sides, and on top of the item. It is important now that the box is full, and the item cannot move around. Once you are confident that this is the case, you can now close the box.
Close the box by folding the smaller two flaps on the left and right, followed by the bottom flap, and finally the top.
To seal the returnable postal box, peel the top adhesive strip, leaving the strip closest to the product undisturbed, and stick it down. It is important you do not stick both strips down, as this means that in the event the box needs to be returned to you, it has adhesive ready to use, without the need for additional packaging tape.
If your Funko Pop Vinyl Figure or other collectable item is particularly fragile or of high value, for peace of mind, you may prefer to double-box your item. A box inside a box can be a great technique to reduce the item’s risk of hitting the side of the packaging if you wish to add an extra layer of security.
